GurlZone is an interactive group workshop designed just for young girls and their mothers.  The 4+ hours of workshop time is designated to helping girls and their mothers navigate the sometimes rough waters of early adolescence. 

As a mother do you really know what pressures your daughter faces every day?  As a young woman do you often wish you could explain to your mother just what it feels like to be living in your shoes?  Here’s your chance!

GurlZone is an empowerment workshop for mothers and daughters in grades 4-6.  The workshop series is designed with the following goals in mind.  First to bridge the communication gap between mothers and daughter, then to identify and name types of bullying,  lastly to develop a common language for talking about female bullying and to learn strategies for conflict resolution. All the while focus on building the individual girls self-esteem and confidence, not to mention its great fun!

“Studies show that the habits we develop in our youth are the ones that will last a lifetime (Marsha Evans, GSUSA).” Within the world of girlhood there is a hidden culture.  Many girls perpetuate or are involved in acts of aggression that slip beneath the radar of parents and teachers.  Sometimes we as adults only get the tip of the iceberg; it’s what lies beneath the surface that can be tricky and hard to navigate as a young girl.  This can be a culture of aggression and negativity. To help combat this we like to teach you about this hidden culture, as well as teach these young girls to resist the negative influences and appreciate their own greatness.

Growing up is hard enough.  I hope that together we can all appreciate the greatness of each other and empower the young women of today to become the GREAT women of tomorrow.  Join us for this exciting experience.  Your time will be well spent.
